The sculpture/seat is constructed within the living branches of a Sweet Chestnut coppice stool, This type of tree is the result of one of the earliest forms of woodland management. This kind of woodland is a common feature of this area.
The seating area is carved from wild cherry that had fallen not far from the site.
The seating area is slotted tightly in between the branches and will be locked in to the tree as the branches grow.
