Wild Throne

Materials: Mixed Spruce

Approx size: 5x4 Metres

Location: Kilvey hill, South Wales

Date: 1997

The Wild Throne is built on Kilvey Hill in South Wales, the Sculpture is made from and hangs between two living larch trees. This creates in the summer two living green spires either side of the throne . The seat is positioned to take full advantage of the view over the Swansea vale and onto the Black Mountains in the distance. .

Wild throne is inspired by tales told of Swansea by local people. The name Swansea itself came from the Viking King Swain (Swains place)

The work was constructed with the help of local people.
